Celebrate National Poetry Month with Andika!

April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate this vibrant time RAC Founder Lamoi will be facilitating a freewriting workshop and open mic through the Brampton Public Library Four Corners Branch.

Andika, Swahili for write is the intentional energy for the day. This workshop will be a safe space for poets to create new works by stirring up creativity and building an atmosphere of inspiration. Participants will free-write new poems, and work on and edit previously written work through new perspectives using prompts, feedback and ideas.

Immediately after the workshop, participants of the workshop as well as members of the community will be invited to share their work at the Open Mic downstairs on the 1st floor. The workshop will be held in the 2nd floor boardroom, there is no admission to the workshop, as well as to the open mic, and it is open to all ages.

Registration is not necessary, just yourself, your writing utensils and your energy.
Check out the Facebook event link for more and current information.
